American River Acoustic Music Camp Mission Statement The Mission of the American River Acoustic Music Camp (ARAMC) is to promote the instruction and appreciation of acoustic music. In addition ARAMC will work on outreach for the promotion of education and presentation activities relevant to contemporary, traditional, and multi-cultural folk music, folklore, and folk dance in the Mother Lode of the California Sierra Nevada Gold Country. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~­~~~~~~~~~ Folklore is the oral history of culture, its foundation. Folk music is the culture’s musical history, the foundation of all music. It is international in its scope, it is inclusive of all the genres of music, from jazz to gospel, classical to hip-hop, R&B to Rock, traditional Appalachian, Asian, African and European music.
