The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to serve others by helping to instill value in young people and prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential.

The Divide Has a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Divide Emergency Animal Rescue (DEAR) that during a disaster will respond when called out by OES. Since 1917, Lions clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. Today with more than 46,000 clubs in 192 countries and geographical areas, Lions have expanded their focus to help meet the ever-increasing needs of our global community.

Monthly Committee meetings to discuss local community concerns, including proposed developments and impacts on roads, water and schools. All community members are welcome. We are a networking organization supporting community projects and causes. We are advocates committed to building, promoting and sustaining a successful healthy community. The El Dorado County Amateur Radio Club (EDCARC) is a group of ham radio operators who live in our county. There are over 50 amateur radio operators on the Georgetown Divide. This non-profict organization was formed in 1978 to promote and advance health and emergency care, and to aid in the expansion of health care on the Divide. A Bazaar is held the first Saturday in December to earn monies to benefit the Georgetown, Garden Valley, and Mosquito Fire Districts. The Dusty Divider's 4-H Club meets the first Monday of each month from October to June at 6:30 PM at the Marshall Grange in Garden Valley. Many projects are available, including Sheep, Horse, Swine, Poultry, Sewing, Citizenship, Cooking, and Crafts.

The purpose of El Dorado Equestrian Trails Foundation is to preserve, create, maintain, protect and advance recreational trails for present and future use. The meetings are held at the Greenwood Community Center (off Highway 193, near the CCC Camp) on the first Thursday of every even month
